In cities that are fully or partially captured by the racist army, forced mobilization into the aggressor armed forces begins

On the outskirts of Mariupol, which is temporarily controlled by russian militants, the occupiers began forcibly mobilizing men.

According to residents, the mobilized are planned to be used as "cannon fodder" in street battles in the city to cover the enemy army and "DNR" terrorists.

Four days ago in Vasylivka, Zaporizhia region, the occupiers began detaining men at a checkpoint.  The census of the male population has begun.  The summons have not been handed to them yet.

It is likely that these men will also be forced to fight for units of the racist army.

Forced mobilization in Russian-occupied territories violates Article 51 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, which strictly prohibits the occupying Power from forcing protected persons, ie those in conflict or non-nationals.  is to serve in its armed or auxiliary forces.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during the Russian Military Invasion of Ukraine and the expert mission set up by OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these facts of war crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine.
