Commissioner: civilian casualties again - aggressor's troops continue to commit crimes against humanity

As a result of the air strike on the residential sector of Sumy, 22 civilians were killed, including 3 children.

Last night during an air raid, the russian military dropped three bombs on a residential sector in Sumy.  6 houses were completely destroyed, another 20 were partially destroyed.

22 civilians were killed, including 3 children.  These are children from one family - Artem Pryimenko, born in 2006, multiple champion of Ukraine in sambo, and his two younger brothers Yegor and Kirill.  Their father, mother and grandmother died with them.

Eight people were injured in the airstrike, including a five-year-old girl.

By killing civilians, the aggressor's troops continue to commit crimes against humanity as defined by the Statute of the International Military Tribunal and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, cynically disregarding all the requirements of the Geneva Conventions for the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts .

Air strikes by the aggressor's troops take dozens of lives of peaceful Ukrainians every day as long as the skies over our country remain open to enemy fighters.

I ask NATO member states to close the skies over Ukraine!
