Commissioner: ATO veteran killed in Kherson region, two minor children were orphaned

In the Kherson region from the torture of russian invaders killed a veteran of the anti-terrorist operation from the village of Aprikosivka, Kherson region Nazar Kagalnyak.

After the anti-terrorist operation, Nazar suffered two heart attacks and complicated heart surgery.

The occupiers abducted the man, beat him severely and tortured him for being a former combatant.

The occupiers brought Nazar, who had been tortured, home.  His condition critically deteriorated, after which the man was taken to the hospital in Oleshka, where he later died.

Nazar's two minor children have been orphaned because he has cared for them without a wife for the past five years.

Nazar's torture is a war crime because, under Article 3 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, persons who do not take an active part in hostilities, including those who have taken up arms and those who have ceased to be involved in hostilities.  due to illness, injury, detention or any other reason, shall not be prosecuted in any way.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during the Russian Military Invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of Russian war crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine.
