Commissioner: citizen of Ukraine Fevzi Saganji was illegally transferred to the PKU "Prison №2 UFSIN of Russia in the Vladimir region (Vladimir Central)"

28-year-old citizen of Ukraine Fevzi Saganji was illegally transferred from the correctional colony №11 in Stavropol (Russia) to the PKU "Prison №2 UFSIN of Russia in the Vladimir region (Vladimir Central)", where Ukrainian political prisoners Oleg Prikhodko and Eskander Abdulgani are already serving their sentences . This was announced by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lyudmyla Denisova.

According to her, the relocation was carried out in order to strengthen the regime of serving Fevzi for his pro-Ukrainian position.

"The deportation lasted for two months, during which Fevzi Saganji was subjected to physical and psychological torture. In prison, the man does not receive vital medicines and any medical care, "Lyudmyla Denisova said.

Fevzi was unjustifiably sentenced in January 2019 by the so-called "Lenin District Court of Simferopol" controlled by Russia to 10 and a half years in prison for allegedly participating in the Noman Chelebidzhikhan Voluntary Battalion, which the occupation authorities consider an illegal armed group.

The Commissioner asks the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Russian Federation Vasyl Pokotyl to urgently visit Fevzi Saganji and check the observance of his rights.

Lyudmila Denisova appealed to the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova with a demand to protect the rights of citizens of Ukraine, namely to facilitate the provision of necessary medical care.

The Оmbudsman calls on the international community to join forces and increase pressure on the aggressor country, Russia, to return all Kremlin prisoners home as soon as possible and end the persecution of civilians on the Ukrainian Crimean peninsula.
