Commissioner: thanks to joint efforts, several deported Ukrainians were transported from a camp in the Penza region of Russia to Estonia

Almost every day, the media of the occupying country, citing information from racist high-ranking officials, report on the deportation of our citizens from Ukraine.  As of April 16, according to them, 808 thousand people were displaced, of which 153 thousand were children.

Last week, I was approached by volunteers from Russia who discovered three camps for deported Ukrainians in the Penza region.  They visited one of these camps, which at the time housed more than 400 people, mostly women and 147 children of all ages, including infants.

Our citizens were in an extremely difficult and depressed situation, they did not have clothes, food, hygiene items, because they were taken from Mariupol directly from the bomb shelter.

According to the results of joint work with russian volunteers, the consulate of Ukraine in Estonian and the Estonian side, yesterday the first 7 Ukrainians from the camp in Penza region, including a family with three children, were taken to the city of Narva in Estonia and receive help.

We are currently preparing to transport the next group of people.

I appeal to the citizens of Ukraine who are currently in Russia and do not know how to get to Ukraine or European countries - you can use the checkpoint across the russian border to the city of Narva, where you will be assisted by the Consular Service of Ukraine and local communities.
