The Commissioner called on law enforcement agencies to effectively investigate the crime in Kharkiv against members of the LGBTI community

During the media monitoring, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights revealed that on January 31, unknown individuals in Kharkiv damaged a mural of equality "Being different together" on the facade of the building where the PrideHub Community Center for Friends is located. to the LGBTI community of people.

On the wall of the house, unknown people painted a Celtic cross, Nazi symbols and quotes from the Bible. This is not the first time such acts of vandalism have been recorded in Kharkiv.

According to this fact, the Commissioner appealed to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region in order to conduct an effective investigation of this offense with a mandatory investigation into the motive of intolerance on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity.
