Commissioner: The enemy uses prohibited anti-personnel mines against civilians

Six civilians become victims by an aggressor's anti-personnel mine in Chernihiv region.

Yesterday on the highway near the Kolychivka village in Chernihiv region car with three adults and three children in it exploded on an anti-personnel mine.  All adults died on the spot, children with injuries of varying severity were taken to hospitals.

According to eyewitnesses, mines on the road were covered with straw and garbage.

Anti-personnel mines placed by Russian troops in the Chernihiv region are prohibited for use under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction.

The use of such weapons against civilians is a crime against humanity and a violation of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949.

I appeal to international partners, the terrorist state must be stopped by all available and possible ways!

I ask NATO member states to close the skies over Ukraine!
