The Commissioner is grateful to the members of the European Parliament for supporting the establishment of a special international tribunal to investigate Russia's crimes in Ukraine

The European Parliament calls for the military and political leadership of russia and their allies to be brought to justice before a special tribunal for the attack on Ukraine.

Yesterday, he adopted a resolution calling on the European Union to establish a special international tribunal to investigate russia's crimes in Ukraine.

The resolution emphasizes that atrocities such as indiscriminate shelling of cities and villages, forced deportations, the use of illicit munitions, attacks on civilians evacuated through pre-agreed humanitarian corridors, executions and sexual violence are the violation of international humanitarian law and should be classified as war crimes.

MEPs insist the EU must take swift action to investigate, as there is a serious threat of destroying evidence of war crimes.

I am grateful to the members of the European Parliament for their support of the relevant resolution and to Ukraine!

Every war criminal will be punished!
