Commissioner: Russian militants continue to commit genocide against the civilian population of Ukraine

Russian military terrorists are shelling peaceful cities - under air fire - hospitals, schools, houses and humanitarian corridors.

At night invaders from artillery fired at oncological hospital in Nikolaev where all oncological patients of the city and area pass treatment.  According to preliminary data, two people were injured.

Under constant shelling, the city of Izyum was left without electricity, heat, water and communications.  Yesterday Ukraine prepared 20 buses, created a "green corridor", but due to the constant fire of the occupiers it was not launched

Continues the shelling of the territory of Luhansk region controlled by Ukraine - the Mountain Community, Popasna, Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Rubizhne and Kreminna. The Russians are shelling all the infrastructure, schools, hospitals, kindergartens, hitting water and gas pipelines, power grids.  At the same time, humanitarian corridors are not allowed to be rebuilt or agreed upon.

Dozens of civilians were killed and wounded.

In the new temporarily occupied by the russians territories civilians are repressed.

The former vice-rector of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Colonel Valery Moskovets, died tragically yesterday.  A Russian missile hit a house in Dergachi city. His 21-year-old granddaughter Anastasia also died.

In the Kyiv region, according to information from local temporarily occupied villages, there are atrocities committed by Russians: executions, rapes, torture, abductions.

In the village of Slobozhanske in Kharkiv region, two days after the bomb hit a two-story apartment building, rescuers found the bodies of five people under the rubble: two women (approximately 35-45 years old), a man (under 40) and two children (2 years and 12 years old).  14 years).

In besieged Chernihiv in the heart of the city, the Russian occupiers bombed the Hotel “Ukraine”. Chernihiv - without electricity, almost without water, heat and gas.  There are problems with mobile communication and the Internet.

Torture of civilians by Russian militants is nothing but genocide of the Ukrainian people in accordance with the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

I appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross to take all possible measures to open safe humanitarian corridors on the territory of Ukraine for the evacuation of civilians in areas of active hostilities.

I ask NATO member states to close the skies over Ukraine!
