Russia violates the rights of wounded Ukrainian military and civilians - Mariupol Field Hospital is on the verge of survival

Due to the long siege and constant shelling of russian aircraft and artillery, it is impossible to replenish stocks of drugs - painkillers, antibiotics, drugs for anesthesia.  People with severed limbs, shrapnel and bullet wounds have to be operated on under the light of a headlamp.  Even after a successful operation, the wounded are at high risk of complications - sepsis, peritonitis, gangrene.

In such conditions, many can not help, despite the fact that doctors work around the clock without rest.  There is a shortage of doctors and nurses, including the wounded and killed.

The wounded need an urgent evacuation!

Russia grossly violates Article 12 of the Convention for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces of August 12, 1949.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during the Russian military invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of human rights violations in Ukraine.

After meeting with Putin, UN Secretary-General Gutteres said the UN was ready to become a guarantor of humanitarian corridors in Mariupol.

I call on Antonio Gutteres and the International Committee of the Red Cross to take all possible humanitarian measures without delay to protect and assist the wounded and medical personnel, as provided for in Article 9 of the Convention on the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces.
