Held an online meeting with Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović on the security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
She informed the CoE Commissioner about the shelling of civilian infrastructure, the crimes of the Russian military against civilians, including children.
She called on D. Mijatović to use all the opportunities of her mandate, as well as significant international influence to increase pressure on Russia and its leadership by introducing a no-fly zone over Ukraine and disconnecting Russia from the international payment system SWIFT.
The CoE Commissioner for Human Rights expressed her full support for Ukraine and its citizens, emphasizing that she would make every effort to put pressure on the Russian Federation and become the voice of Ukraine and our people in the Council of Europe.
It was agreed that the CoE Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović will hand over to the participants of the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which will take place on March 2 this year. received up-to-date information from the Commissioner on developments in Ukraine in connection with Russian aggression, violations of international law and fundamental norms of the world order, primarily in the field of human rights and victims among the Ukrainian civilian population.
