Уповноважений просить ЮНІСЕФ і ТЧХ забезпечити гуманітарну допомогу постраждалим дітям в умовах воєнного стану

The military invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine has dire consequences for the entire population. The most significant loss is human life, especially children's lives.

According to operational data since the beginning of hostilities of the aggressor from attacks of the enemy 5 children were lost, 33 more were wounded.

Last day only:

an 8-year-old boy died due to the collapse of cars from the destroyed bridge of the Kyiv-Kovel-Yagodyn highway;

1 child died of severe injuries as a result of the shelling of the Sonechko kindergarten in Okhtyrka by Russian troops;

A seven-year-old boy was taken to the National Children's Specialized Hospital Okhmatdyt in Kyiv in critical condition due to gunshot wounds.  The child is in intensive care in critical condition;

a child died during an air strike in Sartan, Donetsk region;

due to rocket attacks on residential neighborhoods damaged lyceum № 144 them.  Hryhoriy Vashchenko in Kyiv and schools in Mariupol;

in Sumy region, enemy aircraft scatter children's toys, mobile phones and valuables filled with explosives.

The actions of the Russian Federation violate the right to life of children guaranteed by Article 6 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and will certainly be key evidence in the Hague tribunal's investigation into war crimes committed by the aggressor state during the invasion of Ukraine.

I ask the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Red Cross Society to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to the affected children and their families during the martial law in Ukraine.

No child should be a victim of war!
