Commissioner: Russia's support for the UN Security Council statement is the first official recognition of the real nature of its actions in Ukraine

Today, for the first time since the beginning of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, the UN Security Council approved a statement on the situation in our country.

The Council is deeply concerned about maintaining peace and security in Ukraine and strongly supported the efforts of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to find a peaceful solution.

The statement was approved by all members of the UN Security Council, including Russia.

The members of the Council unanimously acknowledged that the situation on the territory of Ukraine is dangerous and inconsistent with the Charter of the United Nations.

The Security Council expressed its strong support for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who said in a speech that "Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a violation of its territorial integrity and the United Nations Charter," because the consequences of Russia's actions are obvious.

The UN Secretary-General stressed that "the war against Ukraine is senseless in its scale, ruthless in its size and boundless in the potential for global damage."

Russia's support for the UN Security Council statement is the first official recognition of the real nature of its actions in Ukraine, as well as evidence of the lack of support from the aggressor state among the world and member states.

The aggressor grossly violates the Charter of the United Nations and must bear fair responsibility for it!
