Сommissioner: another arbitrariness against Crimean Tatars in the temporarily occupied Crimea!

The Russian-controlled Kyiv District Court of Simferopol chose to detain Crimean Tatars Marlen Mustafayev and Amethan Abdulvapov until April 7, and the Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol remanded Ernest Seitosmanov and Ansar in custody until April 6. This was announced by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lyudmyla Denisova.

The Commissioner reminded that this morning Russian FSB officers detained the four Ukrainian citizens living in the Belogorsk, Bakhchisaray and Simferopol districts of the Crimean Peninsula and the Balaklava district of Sevastopol without explanation.

All four are illegally accused of "committing a crime under Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (organization of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization."

"Illegal searches were carried out in their homes before they were detained. They were carried out by the FSB without the permission of lawyers and the presentation of relevant procedural documents in the Crimean Tatar language, which is a violation of Article 6 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, "the Ombudsman said.

Lyudmila Denisova called on the international community to strongly condemn such illegal actions of the Russian Federation, to increase pressure on Russia to stop human rights violations in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
