Commissioner: due to enemy shelling, all settlements of Luhansk region remain without electricity

As a result of shelling by enemy forces and the destruction of civilian infrastructure, residents of Luhansk region have once again been deprived of basic living conditions, remaining without gas, electricity and water.

According to the Luhansk Regional State Administration, on April 25, 2022, the Russian army de-energized a 500 kV power substation recently built near Kreminna.  This substation in peacetime healed most of the towns and villages of the region.

Earlier, electricity came from Luhansk TPP in the city of Schastya, but its transformer units were destroyed due to military aggression by Russia.

So, for now, ALL settlements of Luhansk region have been left without electricity.

Rashists continue to turn Ukrainian cities into uninhabitable territories.

Such actions of the Russian Federation are genocide of the Ukrainian people in accordance with the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and Article 6 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during the Russian Military Invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of committing crimes of genocide and human rights violations in Ukraine.

I call on international partners to provide weapons to fight the aggressor country of Russia!
