Due to the actions of the occupiers, Kherson region is on the verge of ecological catastrophe

About 4 million chickens have already died at one of Europe's largest and most modern chicken egg production plants, the Chornobayevskaya poultry farm of the Ukrlandfarming agricultural holding in the Kherson region.

As a result of the shelling by the Russian Federation, the electricity supply was interrupted, the farm was left without the opportunity to feed poultry and export finished products.

Despite the danger, under the occupiers' fire, the poultry workers managed to distribute about 90,000 chickens and more than 1.4 million eggs to the local population and neighboring farms.

As for the dead birds, they were buried, while trying to avoid the danger of bacterial contamination, to protect groundwater and soil from contamination.

The racists robbed the enterprise, took away almost all the equipment and personal property of the workers.  It is currently impossible to resume operation of the enterprise.

Intentional assault, when it is known that it will cause accidental widespread, long-term and serious damage to the environment, is a war crime under Article 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during Russia's Military Invasion of Ukraine  and the expert mission set up by the OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these facts of war crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine.
