In Vienna, as part of the Second Additional Meeting on the Human Dimension, the Commissioner met with the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights

During the Second Additional Meeting on the Human Dimension in Vienna, with Matteo Meccacci, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, discussed areas for our future cooperation.

Spoke about my activities to record russia’s crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine.  Since February 24, the Commissioner's 24-hour hotline has been contacted by 40,000 citizens who report rashist crimes against 80,000 people.  Another 1,038 victims of sexual crimes and torture called our with UNICEF psychological help line.

I passed the information I recorded to the investigators of the International Criminal Court.

Currently, there is a question of improving the technical equipment of the hotlines to make them even more accessible to citizens.

Agreed to expand cooperation in this direction so that no russian criminal would escape responsibility.

Also touched upon the issues of forced deportation of Ukrainians to russia.  Today there are more than 1.3 million of them, including 223,000 children.

At my initiative, an international working group was set up to work out a mechanism for their return.  Participating in the implementation of the mechanism of such an authoritative organization as the OSCE / ODIHR will increase the chances of success.

Mr Meccacci expressed his readiness to join in resolving the issue.

It was agreed to meet in Kyiv in the near future to discuss further joint action plans.
