Representatives of the Commissioner discussed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine with the Chairman and Secretary General of ENNHRI

At the Ukrainian-Polish border, my Representatives in the western and northern regions met with Sirpa Rautio, Head of ENNHRI, Chair of the Center for Human Rights of Finland (under the Finnish Parliamentary Ombudsman) and Debbie Kohner, Secretary General of ENNHRI.

During the meeting, the humanitarian situation in Ukraine was discussed.

It was reported that the Russian occupation forces violate the rights of civilians and children of Ukraine to life and security guaranteed by the Hague and Geneva Conventions and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child - civilians under constant fire.  The enemy is shelling civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

Under the fire of the occupiers, the population is being evacuated from the regions of hostilities.  Humanitarian cargoes are not allowed or looted.

The capture of civilian hostages and the terror of the population of the occupied territories continue.

They discussed ways to consolidate efforts with European governments and representatives of international organizations to prevent Ukrainian women and children from becoming involved in human trafficking.

Our partners handed over the humanitarian aid that will be delivered to the city of Kyiv in the coming days and expressed their full support to the Ukrainian people and every citizen.

Ms. Rautio and Ms. Conner expressed their gratitude for my daily coverage of information on the humanitarian situation and violations of human rights and freedoms in Ukraine on the Commissioner's information resources.  This information is a source for European human rights organizations to respond and make decisions about helping Ukraine.
