Lyudmyla Denisova visited the Humanitarian Arrival Center for Ukrainians and the Center for Registration of Ukrainian Citizens in Vienna

During her working visit to Vienna, she visited the Humanitarian Center of Arrival for Ukrainians and the Center for Registration of Ukrainian Citizens ("Messezentrum").

The Humanitarian Arrival Center for Ukrainians (Humanitären Ankunftszentrum der Stadt Wien) is located in the Sport & Fun-Halle.  It provides citizens of Ukraine with a temporary bed (1-2 days), food, emergency medical and psychosocial care and general information.

Today, the center housed about 90 Ukrainians - women, children, people with disabilities and the elderly.  Some arrived in the morning from Zaporizhia and Mykolaiv regions, others came to the center to receive humanitarian aid and just spend time with compatriots.

Our citizens have informed me that they are generally satisfied with the quality of services provided at the Humanitarian Center for the Arrival of Ukrainians, with the help and care of social workers and volunteers.

They noted that the procedure for obtaining temporary protection in Austria is somewhat complicated.  Yes, first Ukrainian citizens must register with the police.  The relevant branch is located in the center for registration of Ukrainian citizens in the exhibition center ("Messezentrum").

Then, in order to obtain a residence permit and a corresponding identity card (Ausweis für Vertriebene), the so-called "blue card", as well as financial support, you need to apply to another, third center - data collection and consultation (ACV).

Another issue raised by Ukrainians at both the Humanitarian Center for the Arrival of Ukrainians and the Messezentrum was the lack of information on consular services and contacts with the Ukrainian Embassy in Austria.

She addressed the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria with a proposal to initiate before the Austrian authorities the issue of providing Ukrainians with temporary protection services, which are currently provided by three different centers in one place.  Also called for information materials on consular services and contacts of the Embassy to be posted in the centers for citizens of Ukraine.

I am grateful to the Austrian authorities and volunteers for their help to Ukrainians.

With the support of our friends, Ukraine will survive and win!
