Liudmyla Denisova has appealed to the Ombudsman of the Russian Federation with a request to check the compliance with human rights of the Ukrainian prisoners in the detention center in Simferopol.

«I receive petitions from NGOs and family members of the prisoners about inadequate detention conditions and lack of medical care in the Sevastopol detention center», - mentions the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for human rights in the appeal to Ms Tatyana Moskalkova.

In this regard, during the visit to the detention center of Simferopol Ms Liudmyla Denisova asked the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation to check detention conditions and the state of provision of necessary medical assistance to Mr. Bakhul, Mr. Abdullauev, Mr. Mamutov, Mr. Memetov, Mr. Abseitov, Mr. Abiltarov, Mr. Seitosmanov, Mr. Degermendzia, Mr. Chapukh, Mr. Ametov, Mr. Trubach and Mr. Ramazanov.

In response to the appeal of Ms Liudmyla Denisova, the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation said that she would visit the Ukrainian activist Volodymyr Balukha in the Crimean prison in the upcoming days. The Commissioners also agreed that Ms Tatyana Moskalkova will check the state of observance of the rights of other Ukrainian prisoners.
